This of course is an original Ed Carpenter design and was constructed and perfected after intensive hours of studying the actual machinery. It moves and functions just like the real thing, including a boom that raises and lowers and a blade on the cutting head that really turns!
We are proud to present our small-scale model of the hydraulic feller-buncher. The life-size piece of machinery is used in the log- ging industry for selctive cutting over all types of terrain! It is a useful piece of equipment because it helps to minimize damage to the surrounding trees and landscape.
It also features a cab that levels itself by using wooden hydraulics, which the life-size piece of machinery uses to remain stable over all types of terrain. The piece is roughly 18th scale.
The model is constructed of cherry (darker wood), poplar (lighter wood), Baltic Birch plywood, Cherry faced plywood, and birch dowels.
The new feller-buncher makes a perfect companion for pulp trucks, and is a welcome addition to any collection.
